Vineyard

We have planted a small family vineyard in 2004. Drawing from the rich history of viticulture in our region, we sourced our rootstocks from an experimental vineyard located in the village of Bambakashat. In the 1960s, Professor Suren Poghosyan performed a crossing of Nerkeni and Muscat Rouge de Madera and established the experimental vineyard that would provide the foundation for our own.

Still family-run to this day, our vineyard is fueled by our passion for high-quality wine and our unwavering commitment to bringing the best to you. With every harvest, we strive to honor the legacy of winemaking in our region and bring the unique flavors of the rare Karmrashat grape variety to your glass. Experience the love and devotion that goes into every bottle of our wine.

The variety was obtained in the sixties and was grown in several hectares of industrial land and experimental vineyards of the institute of viticulture. In the future, the variety was not distributed. Karmrashat was obtained by crossing the grape varieties Muscat Rouge de Madere, which is the same purple muscat registered in the European database Vitis (this variety has 23 synonyms) and Nerkeni․ The authors of the variety are Armenian viticulturists/breeders Surnen Pogosyan and S.S. Khachatryan․ The genotype of the variety is unique. The variety was obtained in the sixties and was grown in several hectares of industrial land and experimental vineyards of the institute of viticulture.
